Highlight: Spring 2007 returning Clinician,
Marietta Schulz
We are honored again to host Marietta as a visiting clinician.
Marietta Schulz has been qualified since 1981 as an German National Federation (FN) riding instructor, and since 1988 she has the same qualification in vaulting. In 1982 graduated from the University of Cologne with a degree in special education. She underwent training and received certificate in psychoanalytic family therapy, psychomotor movement therapy and therapeutic riding/vaulting.
From 1983 -91 Marietta served in a managerial position in a residential home for "broken home" children/adolescents. Beginning in 1991 Marietta was involved in a variety of teaching and research responsibilities at the technical college of Cologne, the University of Marburg and the University of Dortmund. In Dortmund, Marietta worked in close cooperation with Professor Dr Hoelter, the head of the institute for psycho-educational movement therapy. Since 1992, Marietta has been member of the executive board of the Deutsche Kuratorium for Therapeutisches Reiten, where she has been responsible for international contacts and heads the remedial-educational riding/vaulting section.
Starting in 1995, Marietta has set up her own therapeutic riding program directed to the needs of autistic children. Special interests include developing creative projects such as circus or theatre on/with children and horses. |
